High school marching bands from across northern Nevada gathered at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Mackay Stadium on Saturday to compete in the Sierra Band Crusade.

UNR’s marching band kicked off the event, which was billed as an opportunity for student musicians to visit the UNR campus and perform in a stadium environment. Friends and family of band students from across northern Nevada, as far away as Spring Creek and Elko, were also able to watch the performances.
