Pry is a band based out of Reno with Watson Meyer, Nick Meza, Dylan Greist and Nathan Lachner. Questions were answered by Watson Meyer, lead songwriter.

1. How did you get started and who are your fans?

I played trombone in high school, and I played in weird bands here and there but nothing notable. Moving to Reno gave me a tangible opportunity to play music in a more substantial way within a community that supported each other. I have no idea who the fans are honestly

2. How would you describe your sound and style?

The style comes mostly to an interpretation of the feeling I’m trying to express. How can the music describe the emotion that the lyrics are doing? How can I portray that in the most intentional way possible? I think I lean towards a post-punk style especially since when I started, I wanted to sound like Ought and Protomartyr.

3. Who are you most inspired by?

David Byrne is definitely one of my biggest inspirations. There’s so much to get in his approach, his stage presence, his song writing and the way he carries himself within the music world.

4. Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I hope this band evolves. I hope I’m not writing the same songs that I am now, and the band becomes at a level where it can still be a positive source of energy for myself and for the people who care about what I do. I also have to make sure that I can be a source of knowledge for bands trying to get a solid footing in touring, recording, and releasing so I give back to what I have received.

5. How can people get a hold of you?
