After school childcare programs are being cancelled today due to hazardous weather conditions and classes at five schools have been cancelled altogether, according to a statement this morning put out by the Washoe County School District.

Classes were cancelled at Gomes, Stead, Desert Heights, Silver Lake, and Natchez elementary schools. Other schools were on a 2-hour delay.

Families were notified via the Connect-Ed call system and through email about today’s schedule. Students were to use winter bus stops and school buses might be a few minutes late due to snow, the message said.
