fireThis week a Reno family announced an online fundraiser to help them recover after a devastating house fire. To help them rebuild by donating, visit www.youcaring.com/CowleyFireFund and share on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.

Donated funds will help to pay a deposit and first month’s rent, and purchase new furniture, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, first aid kits, and other necessities. The family is also raising funds to replace kids’ toys, a fort built by their grandfather who is a U.S. Army veteran, music equipment, home computers, and other items destroyed in the fire.

The family was unfortunately not insured, and plans to get renters insurance at their next rental. No cause of the fire was officially determined.

Fundraiser goal: $12,000
