WINNEMUCCA – The Winnemucca District of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced that the Black Rock Station will be closed for the winter.

Located at 200 Transfer Rd. in Gerlach, NV, the visitor center will close its doors on October 12th and will reopen in the spring.

“Visitors to the Black Rock Station have the opportunity to learn about this beautiful area through interpretive panels and maps as well as important need-to-know safety information from our Black Rock Visitor Center. Information surrounding the cultural and natural resources in the area such as wildlife, plants, wilderness, and recreational opportunities are also available through the Visitor Center. We had a successful year of the public coming out and visiting the area and we look forward to an even more successful 2016 season,” said Dr. Mark Hall, acting Black Rock Field Office manager.
