Local author Tracy Clark will be celebrating the release of the second book in the Light Key trilogy, Deviate, which tells the story of Cora Sandoval, a young girl who must find a way to stop the Arrazi from murdering innocent people and from violating, using, and killing the Scintilla for their powers.
She must also accept one bitter betrayal: Finn Doyle—the Irish boy who has both a piece of Cora’s heart and soul—is Arrazi… On the verge of extinction and sought by those who would either consume or destroy them, Cora and the remaining Scintilla survivors must solve the mystery of the Light Key. If they fail, the truth will stay buried forever and mankind will pay the ultimate price. No longer will she hide.
The Kirkus Review said “passion and power are the driving forces in this series that continues to deliver,” while author Kimberly Griffiths Little called Deviate “absorbing, heart-wrenching, and beautifully written.”
Join Clark and other Light Key fans for a reading and signing at Sundance Books and Music, 121 California Avenue, on Saturday, April 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase.
Tracy Clark is the young-adult author of the YA paranormal romance Scintillate. The final installment of the Light Key trilogy, Illuminate, releases October 2015. Her chilling and suspenseful YA thriller, Mirage, will be released in 2016 from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Clark grew up a “Valley Girl” in Southern California but now calls Nevada home. Her two children teach her the art of distraction and are a continuous source of great dialogue. While being mouthy has gotten her into trouble at times, she’s happy to give characters the freedom to be as mouthy as they need to be. Clark is a mom, a private pilot, and an irredeemable dreamer.
