Koch Business Solutions, LP (KBS)announced a new satellite center to open soon in Reo. The announcement was made at the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) Investors Luncheon held today at the Peppermill Resort Casino and Spa.

Koch is a privately-held company headquartered in Wichita, Kansas with a presence in 60 countries and employs more than 100,000 people worldwide, including about 60,000 employees in the U.S.

“Reno has a deep base of very talented IT professionals,” said Kevin Spiares, director, technology services for KBS. “As we look to provide support in the areas of applications development, cyber-security, global network architecture and various cloud, virtual and converged platforms, we need employees who will continue to help us solve problems and prepare us for future needs. That’s why Reno is the perfect place for us.”

“Reno is pioneering a future in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and technology, and this announcement is further proof of that,” said Naomi Duerr, Reno City Council Member and representative of Ward 2, where the new satellite IT office will be located. “We’re quickly establishing a reputation as one of the West’s great tech hubs, and I and other City leaders are very supportive of that movement.”

“The selection of Reno as the location for the satellite Applications Center of Koch Business Solutions is an incredible validation of the growth of IT in the region,” said, Mike Kazmierski, CEO of EDAWN. “Koch is number two on Forbes’ list of America’s largest private companies, so to be selected by a company of this caliber just reinforces the latest success in the region following recent announcements by Switch, Tesla, Apple and others.”

The Reno location will primarily serve as a satellite office focused on providing Koch Industries IT capabilities in the areas of Applications (Development, Analytics, Support, Databases, etc.), Cyber-Security, Global Networks (Architecture, WAN, LAN, Voice, etc.), and Computer Platforms (Cloud, Virtual, Converged).

The company plans to fill approximately 20 positions in the first year. To learn more about KBS hiring opportunities, go to www.KochReno.com.
