Reno patrol officer arrests suspect within minutes of bank robbery

1300123_fff2-2189104-4739225A suspect in a north Reno bank robbery was arrested within minutes of the robbery this afternoon.

At a little after 2 p.m., the suspect entered the Bank of America at 4998 W. 7th St. and approached a teller window when it was his turn. He then displayed a handgun and robbed the teller of an undisclosed amount of money. The handgun was later discovered to be a toy gun but has a realistic appearance.

Within minutes of the robbery, a Reno patrol officer located and arrested the suspect, 42-year-old Matthew Oliver. The FBI has assumed the investigation and will be taking Oliver into federal custody.
