Listen to blues and R&B with Guitar Woody at Lazy 5 Wednesday night

washoe-150x150-3727333-7900967Washoe County’s Lazy 5 Regional Park in Spanish Springs continues the ninth annual free Wednesday evening concert series July 24 featuring R&B with Guitar Woody & The Boilers.

Due to exceptional support from the community, this summer’s series has been expanded to 12 concerts and will close out Aug. 28 with a special performance from the Bystanders with Katy Simon.

All concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings at the Lazy 5 Regional Park at 7100 Pyramid Way. Patrons can enjoy a free hamburger or hot dog courtesy of the series’ sponsor, Summit Christian Church, and raffle prizes will be offered during every show. Lazy 5 concert line-up:

  • July 24: Blues and R&B with Guitar Woody & The Boilers
  • July 31: Bluegrass, Folk, & Cowboy with The Mountain Girls
  • August 7: Alternative Country by The Refiners
  • August 14: Americana, Blues & Boogie with Colin Ross Band
  • August 21: Celtic, Bluegrass & Contemporary by Contraband
  • August 28: The Bystanders with Katy Simon

Lazy 5 Regional Park is 85 acres and includes a 5,000 square foot community center with an outdoor patio and barbeque area, a children’s playground area, group and individual picnic areas, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and a multi-purpose field. The community center is available for business and social rentals and the park is open seven days a week.

The water play park is open June through August. Covered pavilions may be reserved for birthdays and other special events. For more information on programs and special events, contact the Park Ranger at (775) 424-1866.
