RPD NEWS RELEASE

The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety Joining Forces Grant funded a two-day traffic enforcement operation in which officers focused on high accident locations within the city of Reno. This operation was conducted in conjunction with officers from the Nevada Highway Patrol and University of Nevada Police Department. The goal of this operation was to target violators and decrease accidents.

During the operation the Reno Police Department Traffic Division issued 142 citations. Many of the citations were issued to motorists who were seen using their cell phones while driving.

The Reno Police Department Traffic Division would like to remind motorists to pay attention at all times while operating their vehicles.

As we move forward into the spring and summer months it is important that we all pay attention to the road and not be distracted while behind the wheel.
