RPD NEWS RELEASE
Officers responded at about 11:40 this morning to an apartment building in the 100 block of Washington Street on the initial report of a stabbing that had just occurred.
Investigators learned that the victim was contacted at her apartment by three suspects. One of the suspects forcefully entered the victim’s apartment in an attempt to commit an armed robbery. During a brief struggle, the victim sustained several non-life threatening stab wounds. The suspects fled before officers arrived.
The suspects are not known to the victim; however, they are believed to frequent the area. Suspect 1 is a white male, late 40s, 5-11, thin build, balding with short hair and an unshaven face, last seen wearing a blue flannel jacket. Suspect 2 is a white male, 50s, 5-06, balding, with a mustache and short beard, last seen wearing a black sweater and gray shirt. Suspect 3 is a white female, 50s, 5-10, medium brown shoulder length hair, last seen wearing a white coat and brown pants.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s).
