The University of Nevada will take on Arizona in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, the bowl game announced on Sunday.
This will be the fourth matchup between the schools and the first since 1941. The series is tied 1-1-1.
The game will match the nation’s top two runners in Nevada’s Stefphon Jefferson and Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey. Nevada is 11th nationally in total offense while the Wildcats are seventh.
“Arizona has a fine team overall and a terrific offense,” Nevada coach Chris Ault said. “We are excited for this opportunity.”
Like Nevada, Arizona went 7-5 this season.
The schools are scheduled to play each other in an “home-and-home” arrangement, beginning in Tucson in 2014 and concluding in Reno in 2015.
Tickets for the game are available from the Nevada ticket office at NevadaWolfPack.com or by calling 775-348-PACK. The game is scheduled for a 10 a.m. (Pacific) kickoff from University Stadium in Albuquerque on Dec. 15 and will be carried nationally on ESPN.
