This Saturday, downtown Reno will be filled with santas, elves, reindeer, and an assortment of Christmas characters patronizing downtown businesses at the twelfth annual Reno Santa Pub Crawl.

“The event organizer and participating businesses have been great to work with in preparing for this event,” advised City of Reno Special Events Program Manager Alexis Hill. “We want everyone to enjoy themselves while having a safe, fun, and successful event which means following the North Pole Code of Conduct.”
The City of Reno came up with a fun reminder for participants of the Reno Santa Pub Crawl by tweaking the lyrics to “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” and producing a video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUf-Ewi2lSY&feature=share&list=UUlQT7q90igEYqA17nm-WwhQ ).
On November 7, 2012, the City Council approved a Sponsorship Agreement for City services in an amount not to exceed $6,000 to Reindeer Charities for the 2012 Santa Claus under the Reno Arch. The twelfth annual Santa Claus under the Reno Arch will take place on December 15, 2012, and is a pub crawl that invites tourists and local residents to come to downtown Reno dressed as Santa (or his helpers) to enjoy the services and products of established businesses. Reindeer Charities estimates 15,000 spectators will attend the event in 2012.
For fiscal year 2012-2013, the Reno City Council outlined Arts, Culture, and Special Events as one of their priorities with the focus of providing quality of life for our residents, grow our current tourism base, and attract new visitors.
