RIVER FESTIVAL NEWS RELEASE

The Reno River Festival is now seeking volunteers for its ninth annual event June 15 – 17.

Duties range from helping keeping costume contestants under control to being water gun snipers and obstacle enforcers out on the Run Amuck course. In addition, animal lovers are also wanted for assistance during the Splash Dog and Dog Jog events as well as those who can assist with athlete registration. Shifts range from three to six hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“Each year we rely on nearly 100 volunteers to help us produce this massive event in downtown Reno,” said Ruth Ebens, Reno River Festival event director. “There are so many moving parts spread over so many locations that volunteers become a key in helping us make sure that everything runs smoothly and everyone has a good experience.”

In addition to assistance with production of the Run Amuck mud run, volunteers are needed to help with athlete registration and check-in, creation and distribution of athlete and participation swag bags, identification of individuals over 21 years of age, handing out programs and festival information and the Charity Raft Race.
