Truckee Meadows Community College will be teaching religions of the world in a class open to the public starting Jan. 25.
It will include an outline of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Baha’ism, Confucianism, Jainism, Shintoism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, Native American spirituality and atheism.
Religious statesman Rajan Zed, who is one of the panelists for “On Faith,” a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by the Washington Post, and who has been bestowed with the “World Interfaith Leader Award,” will coordinate this class. Various religious leaders of the area belonging to different religions/denominations will participate as guest lecturers.
All are welcome to sign up for “World Religions” (CR155C), which will be held at the TMCC Meadowood Center, 5270 Neil Road from Jan. 25 to Feb. 22 every Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuition is $169, and seniors get a discount.
