SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
Sharron Angle (R-NV), a former state legislator who leads over Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) in all major independent polling, has been officially endorsed by the Citizens United Political Victory Fund. The Political Action Committee is associated with Citizens United, recently known for its monumental victory in this year’s U.S. Supreme Court triumph in overturning unconstitutional provisions of McCain-Feingold.
Citizens United Political Victory Fund says its mission is to assist a conservative candidate who shares Ronald Reagan’s vision of reducing the size of government, lowering taxes, cutting spending, promoting traditional family values and keeping America safe. Its goal for the 2010 election cycle is to elect a candidate who will fight for conservative principles and challenge the agenda of the Obama administration.
David N. Bossie, president of Citizens United, said, “This is a critical race, and that is why it is so important to nominate a true Conservative with the credibility to stand up to Senator Reid’s out-of-control spending and big-government ways. Sharron Angle is a strong candidate with impeccable Conservative credentials, and I am proud to endorse her for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.”
Angle was delighted to discover that her bid to become Nevada’s next U.S. senator was being supported by the Citizens United Political Victory Fund, saying she values being recognized as a person who unhesitatingly governs under the same visions as Reagan. Angle, a recipient of the Ronald Reagan Freedom Medallion, has been known for years as a strong advocate for lower taxes and smaller government. News reporter Jon Ralston, moderator of last week’s state-wide televised senatorial debate on “Face to Face,” acknowledged during the live broadcast that “Sharron Angle has a conservative voting record” and afterward described Angle in his written news column as “possessing the longest conservative voting record.”
“My record is what it is,” said Angle. “I was a conservative before it was fashionable. I say to voters ‘don’t read my lips, read my record,’ and when I go to D.C. they can trust that I will continue to protect them as I always have. America already has a contract, and it’s called the United States Constitution. We don’t need to keep adding additional supplementary government solutions; instead we need to govern the way our government was originally set up to be in our country, because it was those original principles that made us the greatest country in the world.”
