Drew signs to play at Nevada

Date:

RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada head men’s basketball coach Eric Musselman has signed 6-4 point guard Lindsey Drew to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Wolf Pack next season.  Drew is the second recruit signed by Musselman in his first recruiting class after being named the Pack’s head coach at the end of March.  Missouri State transfer Marcus Marshall signed last week.

“Lindsey brings great size and feel for the game to our backcourt as a 6-4 point guard.” Musselman said. “As we build our Wolf Pack program towards the future, we are excited to bring in a player like Lindsey that has high character and game leadership.  His background as the son of a former NBA head coach, along with his brothers Larry (UCLA) and Landon (Cal State Northridge), gives him an outstanding pedigree.”

Drew is the son of Larry Drew, who played 10 years in the NBA and was the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks.  Lindsey’s brother Larry played at North Carolina and UCLA, while his brother Landon just finished his junior season at Cal State Northridge.

As a prep senior at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, Drew averaged 14.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 6.5 assists for coach Harvey Kitani.  The Lions went 32-3 on the season and 11-1 in league play.  FHS ended the year ranked 23rd nationally.

Drew was named the City Section, All-City and All-Open Division Player of the Year his senior season.  He earned third-team MaxPreps California All-State honors this past season.

Scouthoops.com ranks Drew as a three-star recruit.  He is ranked as the 25th best point guard nationally, third in the state of California and fifth in the west.  Previously he committed to Arizona State but decided on the Wolf Pack over the Pac-12 school.image001-150x137-1663606-7911576
