Date:

15-5615_suspect2-prowler-8989418-7331915Since the middle of March, several southwest Reno residents have reported a suspicious person in the area of Mayberry and West Plumb Lane. He’s been seen peeking into windows.

The suspect in these cases was in the backyards of the victims. On at least one occasion he had stacked items by windows to elevate himself to possibly peer more easily inside the residence.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early twenties, wearing dark colored clothes, a dark beanie and dark frame glasses. One witness was able to provide a sketch artist with information to generate a composite sketch of the possible suspect.

Reno Police have increased patrols in the area. The Reno Police Department is reminding the community of basic home safety precautions:

  • Lock all gates and fences that access your backyard.
  • Properly lock all screens and windows.
  • Install lighted motion sensors on the side and rear of your residence.
  • Remove any items that can be stacked or piled up to allow a person to better access your windows.

Periodically check on your neighbor’s house and report any suspicious activity immediately if you see or hear any suspicious activity at your residence or in your neighborhood.

Anyone having any information as to the identity of this person is asked to please contact the Reno Police Department at (775) 657-4601 or Secret Witness at (775) 332-4900 or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411) keyword – SW.
