City Manager announces new staff assignments

Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger announced today the appointment of two staff members in the City Manager’s office.

Kate Thomas, former director of the Office of Management and Budget, has been appointed as the City of Reno’s new Assistant City Manager. Thomas will continue to oversee the Office of Management and Budget, as well as Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Special Events and Governmental Affairs. In addition, Clinger has changed work functions within the City Manager’s Office. Maureen McKissick, former Strategic Development Administrator, has been appointed to the position of Assistant to the City Manager. McKissick will continue to oversee several significant programs and initiatives including the Smarter Region project and Federal Legislative affairs. Assistant City Manager Bill Thomas will continue to oversee Public Works, Community Development, Economic Development, and Redevelopment. Deanna Gescheider, Director of the Office of Communications and Community Engagement, will remain on the executive staff and report directly to Clinger.
