Royal Gorge Cross Country hosting clinics and full moon ski tour

cathhoward2-555x369-9000927-6205493DONNER SUMMIT, Calif. — Royal Gorge Cross Country Resort will kick off 2015 with a series of demos, clinics and a dinner and full moon ski tour.

Royal Gorge is North America’s largest cross-country resort, and is currently open with 55 kilometers of groomed terrain on 39 different tracks.

Here is a list of the upcoming Royal Gorge events:

• Jan. 2 – Free Demo Day: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Summit Station, Salomon, Fischer, Rossignol and Atomic reps will be on-hand with skis, boots and other equipment. Skiers can test out new gear and talk to equipment experts about the latest cross-country ski products. A trail pass is required to participate in the demo day.

• Jan. 3 – Swix Wax Clinic: Proper kick and glide waxing is critical to cross-country ski performance, but waxing products and techniques should change with temperatures and conditions. Come learn from the waxing experts how to wax properly for numerous conditions and ski types.
This free event begins at 11 a.m. Attendees receive a 10 percent discount on wax items.

• Jan. 4 – Intermediate Skate Clinic: Join two-time Great Ski Race winner Dave Mac as he teaches skate skiing techniques for intermediate skiers. The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and costs $40.

• Jan. 4 – Full Moon Tour and Dinner: Ski cross-country trails under the first full moon of 2015 and then feast on a special dinner at the Summit Station lodge. Seating is limited. Tickets are $15 for season passholders and $20 for the general public. RSVP at 530-426-3871
