The Downtown Reno Library has added a new service kiosk to enhance access to information and resources related to affordable housing. The kiosk, unveiled on Tuesday, provides access to Reno Housing Authority services, including the authority’s website, forms and document printing and scanning capabilities.

“This is a very happy occasion for the Downtown Reno Library,” Libraries Director Jeff Scott said. “This is a wonderful partnership with the Reno Housing Authority, and we’re happy to provide this resource. While you can get information at the library on a public access computer, the Housing Authority kiosk does a lot more.”

RHA Director Hilary Lopez said the kiosk will improve access to RHA services.

“The Housing Authority is continuously looking for additional ways to expand our services and make them more accessible to both our clients and the community,” she said. “This new kiosk is just one more way that we’re doing that. It enables those who are either applying to or receiving services from the Housing Authority to access information, forms, and more at their convenience during library hours, which includes a weekend day, and from a central location in Washoe County.”

The kiosk allows community members to find information about Housing Authority programs. They can also complete and upload documents, apply to open waiting lists, update household information and pay rent online. This resource is particularly valuable for those with limited access to internet, printing or scanning services.
