Truckee Meadows Fire officials are encouraging residents to sign up for Community Connect, an online platform designed to enhance emergency response services for those who live within the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.

Community Connect allows residents to voluntarily share household information with firefighters, paramedics and other emergency personnel.

Participants can create a secure profile and input details such as mobility needs, oxygen use, pet information, gate codes and hazardous material storage. The data help will help emergency responders more effectively respond to emergencies.

“The more information we have at the time of an emergency, the more efficiently and effectively we can serve our residents,” Truckee Meadows Fire Chief Charles Moore said. “We encourage our residents to sign up today.”

The platform also helps business owners by providing first responders access to critical documents like evacuation procedures, occupant rosters and hazardous material lists. Designated contacts receive immediate text alerts when responders are dispatched to their property.

Officials said all data remains confidential and is used solely to improve emergency response services.

Residents can learn more about the program and create their profile at https://www.communityconnect.io/info/nv-truckeemeadows.
