Construction is scheduled to begin this month on the new Sportsdome XL in south Reno. The 120,000-square-foot indoor facility will have sports for children and adults. The project is expected to be completed in 2020 and will be the largest indoor multi-sport facility in northern Nevada.
Sportsdome XL will have both indoor turf and court space for soccer, futsal, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, flag football and softball. It will be the second facility under the Reno Sportsdome brand and will include a large bar, menu and lounge area.
“This exciting, cutting-edge sports facility will provide a space for the youth and adult population of northern Nevada to be active year-round,” said Owen Blake, owner of Reno Sportsdome. “We encountered some construction delays along the way, but we are now on track and are set to break ground. We are building a facility with multiple sports options that the entire community can enjoy.”
The original Reno Sportsdome remains open and will continue to operate with normal hours after the Sportsdome XL’s grand opening in 2020.
Sportsdome is part of the complex where The Loop is located.
