Get Out of Town: El Dorado County Creates Adventure With Wine, Rafting

Date:

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

El Dorado County is home to some of the West Coast’s best, undiscovered wine and adventures — and it’s less than a two-hour drive from Reno. Raft California and Debbie “About Town Deb” McCarthy invited ThisisReno on a media tour to visit the area.

We visited family-owned wineries that have been in operation since the Gold Rush, and the next day hit class-3 rapids on the South Fork American River.

Thanks to Raft California, Boeger Winery, Madroña Vineyards, Nello Olivo Wine, Bumgarner Winery, Crystal Basin Cellars, and HWY 50 Brewery for the hospitality. Check out the photos below for samples of what can be experienced on the other side of the Sierra.
