Bestselling author, speaker, and leadership coach Sally Helgesen will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Women’s Leadership Summit in Reno, Nevada. Helgesen was named by Forbes as the “world’s premier expert on women’s leadership.”
The Women’s Leadership Summit, also known as WMN ‘18, is Reno’s first conference for the empowerment and development of female leaders. In its second year, the event picks up right where last year’s left off, following up 2017 keynote speaker Marshall Goldsmith with another world-class speaker in Helgesen.
Helgesen is a bestselling author, top-ranked leadership guru, and the world’s premier expert on women’s leadership. Her best-seller, The Female Advantage: Women’s Ways of Leadership is hailed as “the classic work” on women’s leadership styles and has been continuously in print since 1990.
Helgesen’s latest book, How Women Rise, will be the subject of her keynote address at the 2018 Women’s Leadership Summit. The book was co-authored with last year’s Women’s Leadership Summit keynote speaker, Marshall Goldsmith, America’s #1 Executive Coach according to Inc. magazine.
Joining Helgesen is a diverse and talented lineup of educational speakers and leaders. The 2018 Women’s Leadership will feature female executives from PepsiCo, Tesla, and Microsoft, thought leaders in the fields of wellness, organizational and talent development, and successful local female entrepreneurs.
The Women’s Leadership Summit is presented and founded by Mandy Clark and her company, Optimizing You, Inc. After years of corporate HR experience for companies like PepsiCo and GE, Clark felt the need for an educational conference in Reno that spoke to the challenges facing aspiring female leaders.
“I felt that, as much as Reno is growing into a powerhouse for new industries, it lacked a true educational opportunity for empowering businesswomen,” said Clark. “It’s something that’s so important to me that I felt compelled to make it happen.”
Speaker topics at the 2018 Women’s Leadership Summit will range from Helgesen’s habits that hold women back, to understanding the female brain, to building and sustaining high performance teams, to Brené Brown’s The Daring Way™.
WMN ‘18, the 2018 Women’s Leadership Summit, is an all day educational conference taking place September 25, 2018 at the Whitney Peak Hotel’s Third Floor.
