VIDEO: Veterans Guest House Expands, Holds Grand Opening Saturday

Reno’s Veteran’s Guest House has doubled in size thanks to generous community donations. The community is invited to a grand opening of the new expansion on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Noreen Leary, Guest House CEO, said that the Guest House is now able to provide lodging to twice as many veterans and their families who travel to the Reno area to receive medical treatment.

The nearly 12,000-square-foot addition takes the bed count from 17 to 33, providing over 12,000 annual room nights. The $4 million expansion was made possible solely with private funds. The house at 880 Locust Street, at the corner of Locust and Taylor streets, across from the north side of the VA Hospital.
