ThisisReno photographer Ty O’Neil captured images Monday afternoon of the firefighting efforts by helicopters from throughout the region on the Woodchuck Fire. Burning in west Reno near Woodchuck Circle, the fire caused evacuations of residents in the area. Drivers were also advised to avoid Mayberry Drive between Fourth Street and McCarran. Washoe County reports that forward progression of the fire has stopped, no residential structures were lost, and two small trailers were lost at the fire’s origin.
