Waste Management is inviting the public to Lockwood’s landfill for free dump weekends throughout April.
“Materials commonly associated with illegal dumping will be accepted at no charge,” said Waste Management’s Kendra Kostelecky. “That includes eligible household appliances (coolant-free refrigerators, hot water heaters, stoves, dishwashers, and washers/dryers) and eligible bulky waste (sofas, chairs, mattresses, and box springs).”
All residents of unincorporated Washoe County, Sparks, and Reno, as well as Storey County, may take advantage of the free dump days.
The days include: April 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 21 and 22, 2017.
The landfill is located at 2700 East Mustang Road east of Sparks.
Items not being accepted are: electronics, dirt, CRT monitors, concrete, liquids, toxic substances, engines, and transmissions. The dump days are only for residential, not commercial, customers.
