SPARKS – At the Nevada Farm Bureau’s 96th Annual meeting, the Nevada Agricultural Foundation awarded Mary Lou Grumstrup the Nevada Ag in the Classroom Volunteer of the Year Award. The award was presented by executive director Sue Hoffman.
“Each year as part of the Nevada Agricultural Foundation’s Excellence in Education Program, we honor an Agriculture in the Classroom volunteer who is dedicated to educating Nevada youth about agriculture,” Hoffman said. “Mary Lou spent countless years educating children about agriculture as an elementary school teacher and now dedicates herself to volunteering at Ag in the Classroom events in Fallon and other communities.”
As a retired elementary school teacher and a Churchill County Farm Bureau member, Grumstrup has spent much of her life teaching children of all ages the 3 R’s and where their food and fiber come from.
