On Thursday, December 10th, and Friday the 11th, the Regional Transportation Commission is partnering with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada for the 23rd annual Food for Fare.

Instead of its typical fare, transit passengers may pay for their ride with a donation of non-expired, non-perishable food.

The donations support the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

“One in four kids don’t know where their next meal is coming from and that’s a staggering statistic,” said Jocelyn Lantrip, Director Marketing and Communications for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

“We couldn’t help these kids and families without the community’s help and this is one of the largest food drives for us of 2015,” she added.

Those not riding the bus may contribute by delivering a donation to any coach operator on the specified dates.
