Q&D Construction announced that it will be connecting the Virginia Street Bridge during the month of October. In addition to the connection of the new bridge, Q&D will begin placing the bow shaped arches across the river.
The arches are being pushed together, taking two to three days to complete the 175-foot journey across the river. Following the launch, both arches will be lowered into place, taking an additional two to three days.
Public viewing areas will be near Wild River Grille, the Sierra Street Bridge and along Truckee River Lane. People can also view this process from the top floor of the City of Reno parking garage or the Construction Cam at reno.gov/vsb. Parts of the sidewalk along the Riverside Artists Lofts will be closed during the connection and will be reopened once the arches have been moved into place.
