The “SafePack” smartphone app, available in the iTunes and Google Android app store, offers campus information and personal safety resources.

Todd Renwick, University Police Service commander, said UNR police services saw the app as another way to provide all the tools and resources possible for students and staff.

“This app allows mobile access to police services,” he said. “It puts the students and staff in closer contact with us.”

The SafePack app includes links for campus maps, emergency contacts, access to safe rides and police and support services.

It also includes a personal safety toolbox with a flashlight, an alarm, personal safety tips and the University’s network of emergency “blue light” phones, Renwick said.

UNR also offers a 24-hour sexual assault and sexual misconduct hotline, which allows students and UNR staff to report on or off campus incidents. Callers may remain anonymous. The hotline phone number is 775-784-1030.
