NEWS RELEASE

The Regional Transportation Commission, Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and NDOT are committed to ensuring disadvantaged businesses, and businesses owned by women or minorities have equal ability to participate in public projects.

The RTC has a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program and is conducting a disparity study with Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, McCarran International Airport and Nevada Department of Transportation.

The study will measure the availability of minority and women-owned businesses to participate in public contracts. As part of the study, members of the public are encouraged to provide testimony at a public hearing on Oct. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at RTC’s location under the I-580 freeway.

The building is located at 2050 Villanova Drive. This is also an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the study, ask questions and become informed about the RTC DBE program.

For more information on the federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, and how to apply for certification, go to: http://nevadadbe.com.
