I spent some time enjoying the Reno Chamber Orchestra this week and preparing for my upcoming photography show at Bruka, more on that later. Here is a link to my article on the RCO. Their upcoming season looks very promising.

Here are some ideas for the weeks to come.

The Artist Co-op will showcase Erik Holland and Pan Pantoja, these two artists have always produced thoughtful and delightful works. Together they promise to be extraordinary.

Erik and Pan are activists who want to see the beauty of Mother Earth preserved. You will see their efforts in the form of landscapes and mountain peaks they have hiked. The food and wine reception for this month-long show is on October 4th. This is the best time to meet the artists and ask them about the inspiration for their works.

Also featured this month as a guest artist is Emma Auriemma-McCay . The gallery is open daily from 11am until 4pm, and this show and sale continues until 10-31.

Once again  Reno Open Studios will be offering a FREE self-guided art studios tour featuring over 40 acclaimed artist. Studio priced artwork! Great opportunity to witness raw materials being transformed into unique art pieces.

The first annual Reno Open Studios tour kicked off in 2009 with 21 local artists. This year’s tour features 35 talented artists in locations all over the Reno/Sparks area. The tour includes a myriad of art including oils, acrylics, watercolor, decorative gourds, jewelry, textiles, bronze, photography, woodturning, metal sculpture, glass and glass blowing, clay, printmaking and ceramics.

Good Luck Macbeth is partnering with Vaude Villain Entertainment to bring you Clown Bar, a dark comedy set in the noir world of clowns. This may be the wild ride for Halloween and I am sure it will be fun. Here is a link to their website: http://www.goodluckmacbeth.org/

Bruka Theatre will be presenting Other Desert Cities. This is about a family reunion and as many family reunions go, there may be some tension and drama. It is written by Jon Robin Baitz and directed by Tony DeGeiso with performances: OCT 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 14A, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 @ 8 PM
