The Reno City Council is meeting tomorrow, and one of the agenda items under consideration is the purchase of the “Believe” sculpture for $70,000. The money would come from room tax funds.
According to the City:
Council will consider approval of an agreement to purchase the BELIEVE sculpture by artist Jeff Schomberg (DBA the Letter Factory) for $70,000 in Room Tax Funds. The purchase is being recommended by the Reno Arts and Culture Commission (RACC). The sculpture was temporarily installed on the City Plaza last summer as the backdrop for the filming of the “American Idol” bus tour, and was well received by the public.
