The Washoe County Heath District is investigating two suspected cases of measles. One case is from Spanish Springs Elementary School, and the District is requiring all non-vaccinated students and personnel to be excluded from the school.

The second case is not related to the school district, but no other details were provided.

The Health District is asking anyone who thinks they have measles to call a healthcare provider’s office, urgent care or the emergency room before arrival. Clinicians at outpatient settings should notify emergency departments before sending any suspect cases for a further medical evaluation, the District said in a statement.

The Health District’s Communicable Disease Investigation Team is monitoring each case, investigating contact exposures as needed.
