Suspect in suspicious death arrested

15-2457-russell-3061314-9513375On February 7, 2015 Reno police responded to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Carville Drive on the report of a possible residential burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, they entered to check the residence and located a 57-year-old white male dead inside the apartment. Detectives also responded and began an investigation into the man’s death.

Through the course of their investigation, detectives positively identified a black male seen in the area at the time of the residential burglary.

After following leads and speaking with several witnesses, the man was identified as 25-year-old Sparks resident Jamelle Russell. Russell was located by Reno Police and placed into custody for open murder, burglary and an unrelated warrant.

The victim was identified as Steven Arnold.
