The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD), in cooperation with the Washoe County Health District, is permitting open burning for a limited time from Saturday, Feb. 14, through Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Residents of the district will be allowed to burn yard debris and ditches for spring irrigation.

Permits with all required restrictions and information may be downloaded at www.washoecounty.us/tmfpd.

In addition, residents who will be burning need to fill out a permit request form from the Washoe County Health District.

TMFPD asks residents to follow guidelines on the burn permit and pay close attention to the winds and proximity to structures before burning.

Call the TMFPD office at (775) 326-6000 with questions, or visit www.washoecounty.us/tmfpd.
