15-2309-holsome-240x300-7528797-9779688Shortly after 4:00 a.m. today, Reno Police 0fficers in the area of 5th and Virginia Streets heard several shots being fired south of their location near the El Dorado Hotel Casino.

When officers responded, one of them observed a suspicious subject in the area of 4th and Virginia Streets. When an officer made contact with the subject, he fled into the El Dorado.

The officer chased him inside, and after a short foot pursuit, the subject was caught, and — after a physical altercation — was placed into custody.

According to police, he had a .38 caliber revolver with several spent casings in his pants pocket.

Further investigation revealed that the subject had fired his pistol at a passing vehicle. It was also discovered that the suspect was an ex-felon out from California.

33-year-old Gregory Holsome was arrested on multiple charges.
