TONOPAH — The Bureau of Land Management will begin gathering about 150 wild horses tomorrow from the Little Fish Lake Herd Management Area located about 65 miles northeast of Tonopah.

Approximately 100 horses will be removed, and the remainder will be returned to the area to achieve a post-gather population of about 100 horses. Fertility control will be applied to all mares released back into the area.

Horses removed from the range will be send to the BLM Wild Horse and Burro Corrals in Ridgecrest, California where they will be prepared for adoption. For more information on the facility go to http://on.doi.gov/1Kzko2n.

The public may attend and is encouraged to call the gather hotline nightly (775-861-6700, option 3) for departure times and meeting locations. For additional information, visit http://on.doi.gov/1wJJqkY.
