38 Wolf Pack student-athletes earn Academic All-Mountain West accolades

image001-150x137-8582051-6435765RENO, Nev. – Thirty-eight Wolf Pack student-athletes from fall sports earned Academic All-Mountain West honors last season, with the accolades announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

The number was up by four from the total of 34 student-athletes honored for the same achievement at this time last year.

In order to qualify for academic all-Conference honors, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic semester/quarter at the member institution, have a cumulative grade-point-average, at the member institution, of 3.0 or better, and competed in 50 percent of the team’s varsity contests.

The Nevada contingent was part of a total of 522 student-athletes within the conference who were named to the team for the fall season, which consists of football, volleyball, women’s soccer and cross country.

The Wolf Pack football and soccer teams led the way as each placed 11 student-athletes on the team while volleyball and cross country each saw eight student-athletes honored.

Representing the soccer team were: Morgan Beye, Katherine Davison, Chrisalyn Fonte, Daisha Jones-Oglesby, Madison Lorenzen, Stephanie Martini, Angel Meriwether, Kellyn Morning, Katie Prosser, Erin Saxton and Laura Voss.

From the football team, the following players were honored: Alex Bertrando, James Butler, Austin Corbett, Jordan Dobrich, Nigel Haikins, Jordan Hanson, Kendall Johnson, Adam Khouri, Matt Moen, Duran Workman and Brent Zuzo.

The cross country was represented by: Alaina Anderson, Demerey Kirsch, Emily Myers, Laura Palacios, Anna Preciado, Sidney Root, Anne Underwood and Meagan Wood

The volleyball team placed: Lyndsey Anderson, Madison Foley, Kara Kasser, Sommer King, Kinsey Minter, Madison Morell, Madison Thorpe and Sam Willoughby.
