Until July 14, you can come see the art of the desert blossom outside of city hall plaza. The word sculpture BELIEVE, part of a ongoing word series produced by local artist Jeff Schomberg, has displayed for several seasons out on the playa.

Schomberg and fellow artist Laura Kimpton create the large steel sculptures. The BELEIVE sculpture is one of many created and installed for the Burning Man annual festival. Other pieces of the word series have included MOM, LOVE, OINK and EGO.

Schomberg is excited to have the opportunity to working with the City of Reno and the local arts community. This installation is in collaboration with the America Idol Audition Bus tour coming to Reno, July 11-12.

This display is an effort to create a inspirational community space, drawing attention to the river corridor located in downtown, according to Christine Fey, cultural affairs manager of the City of Reno. She said the partnership represents the relationship with Burning Man and local area artists.
