GOOD LUCK MACBETH THEATRE NEWS RELEASE – The first show in Good Luck Macbeth Theatre Company’s 2014 season has begun with “The Game Show Show” featuring The Utility Players recreating favorite TV game shows and pitted against teams from around Reno-Sparks. The show runs now through February 22 with a special “pay what you can” performance on February 6, a kids show on the 9th, and the popular Happy Hour Theatre Club performance on the 14th where $40 buys two tickets and a bottle of wine.
Jessica “The Jester” Levity, director and founder of The Utility Players, Reno-Tahoe’s “Best Bet” for comedy, penned this improv-style, interactive event. The goal of engaging different members of the community to play against The Utility Players was there from the start. “It makes it so fun to have new people interact with us onstage,” says Levity. “Plus, it gives these businesses and organizations an opportunity to get their word out, too.”
Teams include Planned Parenthood, Fresh Bakin’, Créme, Brüka Theatre, an all kids team, Wilks Broadcasting, Disability Resources, and more. See the full list and the dates each team is scheduled for online at www.goodluckmacbeth.org. For those who can’t make a particular night or want to see how the show changes with each team every performance will be streamed live online. Details will be available as the shows get closer.
All tickets, except Pay What You can and Happy Hour Theatre Club, are $13 pre-sale or at the door, and can be found online at www.goodluckmacbeth.org, by phone at 775-322-3716, or at The Never Ender 119 Thoma St. in Midtown.
Never say “Good Luck” to an actor. Bad things are bound to happen. Certainly don’t say “Macbeth” in a theater. There’s a fair chance the consequences will be disastrous. Two negatives make a positive, right? Good Luck Macbeth provide a window into the past, a mirror of the present, and a vision of the future. They are Reno’s most ambitious theatre company creating great theatre with locals and professionals, a national playwright competition, children’s theatre, movies, life drawing, & special events.
