Pack falls to New Mexico on the road, back home to host San Jose State Tuesday

  • Nevada is 12-14 overall and 7-6 in the Mountain West after falling 90-72 at New Mexico (19-5, 10-2 MW) today.
  • Nevada hosts San Jose State University (6-19, 0-13 MW) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.  The Spartans lost 46-38 tonight at home.  The Wolf Pack won the earlier road game 62-50 on Jan. 1.
  • The 90 points, 32 field goals made and 55.2 opponent field goal percentage is the high allowed by the Wolf Pack in MW play this season.
  • The Wolf Pack has lost a season-high four in a row.
  • The Pack is now fifth in the MW standings at 7-6.
  • Nevada is 6-6 on the road.
  • Michael Perez and Cole Huff tied for team-high honors with 18 points.  It is the first time Perez led the Pack in scoring and the second time for Huff.
  • Perez tied his career-high with 18 points.  It is the fourth time he netted 18 points in a game.
  • Huff has scored in double figures the last six games which is a career long streak.
  • Senior point guard Deonte Burton played ill and arrived in Albuquerque, N.M. this morning.  Burton scored 12 points and dished out eight assists in 33 minutes.  The eight assists tied his season high.
  • Burton’s eight assists moved him past Ramon Sessions (2005-07) into second on Nevada’s career list with 479.  Sessions had 478.
  • Jerry Evans, Jr. led the Pack with eight rebounds and contributed eight points.  It is ninth time he topped the team in rebounding this season and 25th time in his career.
  • Burton has scored in double figures in 25-of-26 games.
  • AJ West did not have a block for just the second time in 15 games played.
  • Head coach David Carter is 86-72 in his fifth season at Nevada.
