Letter of intent signing party for local track star this Wednesday

WHAT: Jump-N-Shout Sports for Kids along with Raise the Bar Pole Vault Club will offer a college signing ceremony for Alexis Romero who is set to sign her National Letter of Intent with the 2013 NCAA Women’s Track & Field Champion University of Kansas.

WHO: Romero is a standout student/athlete at Wooster High School and also represents the track club Raise the Bar Pole Vault in Reno. Last season, Romero broke a 16 year old record in the pole vault at 12’7.” at the NIAA State Track Meet in route to her Division I State Championship. She was also named All-American at the USATF National Junior Olympics in 2012 and 2013. Romero recently jumped a US #2 indoor ranking, 13’2”, at the UCS National Pole Vault Summit in Reno. In addition to her success on the track, Romero is also a top student in the International Baccalaureate program at Wooster High School with a GPS of 5.1.
