Saint Mary’s Medical Group has opened a new location at 900 Ryland St. in Reno, formerly Acadia Medical Group. Family physician Dulynn Hastings MD and nurse practitioner Katie Lydon APN have joined SMMG and will be practicing at this location. Primary care and pediatric services will be offered at this location Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Hastings earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in respiratory physiology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas before attending medical school. He completed medical school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and attended one of the nation’s top family medicine residency programs at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix.
He is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and is certified in Occupational Medicine. Additionally, he has served as a volunteer assistant professor of medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine since 2003. Hastings is a member of the Washoe County Medical Society, the Nevada State Medical Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians. In 2008, he was rated as one of the Top 100 Family Physicians in the country.
Also joining the new Medical Group practice is Katie Lydon APN, family nurse practitioner. Lydon earned a bachelor’s of nursing degree in Cleveland and a master’s of nursing degree at the University of California, San Francisco. During her time in California, she worked as a clinical nurse specialist at the University of California, San Francisco and received a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Lydon is a member of various professional nursing organizations and is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner. Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses who work with patients throughout their lives to diagnose illness, conduct exams and prescribe medication.
