The Regional Gang Unit has arrested two juveniles for robbery, battery with a deadly weapon and battery causing substantial harm after investigating a fight in Sparks.
Sparks Police officers had responded to a report of a fight in the 200 block of Lincoln Way the night of Nov. 9. They found a 15-year-old victim with serious facial injuries, which they determined he had received during the fight. The victim had broken bones in his face and possible disfigurement to one of his eyes.
The other participants had fled the scene. They were possible gang members, and the Regional Gang Unit was asked to assist with the case.
RGU officers conducted an investigation and were able to identify three suspects. One of them had battered the victim and also stole property from him during the fight. RGU officers arrested two local juveniles, ages 14 and 17, charging them with the following crimes: two counts of robbery, one count of battery with a deadly weapon and one count of battery causing substantial harm.
