Washoe Golf to honor military with special rates Labor Day weekend

militaryflag-300x199-1707306-1177472Washoe Golf Course joins courses throughout the nation in honoring members of the U.S. Armed Forces this Labor Day Weekend by participating in Patriot Golf Days.

All day Saturday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 2, military personnel are invited to play 18 holes for free when they are with a paying partner.

Throughout the weekend, Washoe Golf will accept donations to the Folds of Honor Foundation, created by golf professional and fighter pilot Major Dan Rooney to support the families of veterans who have been injured or perished in the line of duty in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Washoe Golf plans to continue honoring active duty military personnel and veterans from Labor Day through the fall by offering military servicemen and women a special rate of $30 for 18 holes, any time on any day except Thursdays from Sept. 3 through Oct. 31. Washoe Golf Course is Reno’s oldest golf course. The “Shoe” is a par 72, 18-hole course offering a challenging round of golf with spectacular views of Reno and the Sierra. Golfers may reserve tee times in advance online at www.washoegolf.org. The course is operated by Bell-Men Golf and managed by Washoe County’s Community Services Department. Facilities include driving range, PGA professionals, pro shop and “The Shoe Bar and Grill,” a full-service restaurant overlooking the course.

Patriot Golf Days is jointly supported by the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association.
