DUNCAN GOLF NEWS RELEASE
FALLON – Recently renovated Fallon Golf Course by locally owned Duncan Golf Management is ready to open its doors to the public with an official grand opening celebration on June 21.
The celebration will begin at 9 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony and shotgun tournament for all members followed by the serving of complimentary food and beverage from noon to 3 p.m. Beginning at 2 p.m. the public is invited to play in a “skins” competition with a $10 buy-in.
Located at 2655 Country Club Drive, the nine-hole course rests upon the Carson River surrounded by tall cottonwood and willow trees. Originally opened in 1958 as So-Par-O-Van Golf Course, Duncan Golf Management acquired the right to manage the property with the goal of restoring it to its former glory earlier this year. The news that an established company has taken over control of the course has brought excitement throughout the community.
“I am extremely pleased that the county was able to step up and continue the operation of the golf course. It is an integral part of the community not just from a sports opportunity, but for our tourism and development,” said Fallon Councilman Bob Erickson.
