An arrest has been made in the March 9 shooting near Wedekind Road.

At approximately 1:32 a.m. on that date, officers with the Reno Police Department responded to The Silver Terrace Apartments, 1600 Wedekind Road, in regard to a victim being shot during an altercation. The victim, a 19-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.

The victim is currently in stable condition after surgery.

Through the course of the investigation, the suspect in the shooting was identified as David Ledezma, an 18-yr-old Reno resident. David Ledezma turned himself in at the Reno Police Main Station yesterday, March 11, and was subsequently booked for one count of Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

It was learned that a second, unidentified subject was present during the crime and was possibly armed as well. The investigation is on-going. Although the Regional Gang Unit is investigating the crime, it does not appear to be gang motivated.
